Pigeon is designed to be easy and convenient for you, your team and your patients using the ideal interface for each user.

SMS

Patients use Pigeon simply by sending a text message to the phone number assigned to your organization.

Mobile App

Your staff uses the Pigeon Health mobile app (on iOS and Android) to send and receive messages from patients.

Web Dashboard

The whole Pigeon system, including staff and teams, is managed through an online dashboard by an office administrator.

1) Your patient sends a text message

When you set up a team in Pigeon, it will automatically generate a phone number for that team. All your patient has to do is send a text message to that number, just like they would send a text to their friends and family. It’s that simple.

2) Your team receives a message

Pigeon takes your patient’s SMS message and sends it to your team through the Pigeon Health mobile app. Only staff members on the team that treats the patient will be able to see their conversations.

3) Your team responds to the message

Through flexible notification settings and the ability for staff to ping each other to join a conversation, the right team member will be able to see and respond to your patient quickly. No more returning patients’ message a day later.

4) Your patient receives the message

When your team sends a message through the Pigeon Health mobile app, it gets sent to the patient through SMS. Your patient would then receive the message on their phone as a text message.

Teams

Teams are at the heart of Pigeon and are a way to keep your staff and patients together. Teams are flexible and easy to set up. Small offices may have just one team while large organizations may have several teams for each doctor or department.

The staff directory is home to all of your staff members using Pigeon. Adding and managing is incredibly simple. To add a staff member, you just need to input their name, email address, role and which team they’re on. Once added to the system, staff members can easily be edited and added to or removed from teams.
